Summary Phantom Abyss is a massive asynchronous multiplayer game that casts players into procedurally-generated temples and tasks them with retrieving the sacred relics hidden within deadly chambers.
Blessings range from adding Em excesso heart containers and healing damage taken, to movement-enhancing power-ups such as a post-jump glide, and longer whip reach. Activating blessings costs more with each subsequent redemption, adding a compelling risk-reward element. While some treasure chests are easy to find, many are hidden away in areas requiring dextrous platforming skills to reach, or take precious time away from avoiding an in-pursuit guardian.
If you’re savvy enough, you can use the spectres to your advantage by dashing through while the traps reset. Conversely, they can also trigger a swathe of saw blades while you’re not looking, so it pays to be vigilant.
The cleverest players will use the phantom runs of failed attempts from other players to their advantage and avoid the missteps and mistakes that led to their doom.
There is an issue between Cloudflare's cache and your origin web server. Cloudflare monitors for these errors and automatically investigates the cause.
I understand that is due to the servers being reset but perhaps a forced progression reset wasn't the best idea.
Pelo ability in this game has any kind of detrimental effect on your run, and just because I consider an ability to be lower tier does not mean that I wouldn't ever pick it up -- however, I personally tend to prioritize my blessings based on the following ranks:
One of the game’s highlights is how it cleverly bakes a sense of community into its design through the implementation of phantoms – ghosts of other players who came before you and were Phantom Abyss Gameplay bested by the temple. Beyond merely providing a glimpse of where others died, these phantoms are both an assistance and a hindrance, as they activate the many proximity-based traps in each temple.
Phantom Abyss offers an original experience, tinged with platform and roguelite, in a colorful "Indiana Jonesque" atmosphere but a flemmarde hair. The result is rather convincing at the moment and the asynchronous multiplayer adds a real little added value.
